In 2011, the Porsche Carrera Cup GB will again be one of the most important and prestigious race championships in Britain and will be a major support race to the MSA British Touring Car Championship. The new season will be the ninth year of Carrera Cup in Britain, modelled on Porsche's long-established world-wide Carrera Cup concept. Equal cars, close and exciting racing and first-class facilities for teams and drivers all add to the strength of the championship. New for 2011 is the latest development of the stunning 911 GT3 Cup car, with more power, more downforce and an even better driving experience featuring amongst a host of changes.
Aged 24 and under, the BRDC Rising Stars are very much the future of the Club, today. Lewis Hamilton and Alex Lloyd are just two success stories from the Rising Star scheme – and with eight national champions from its ranks last season alone, BRDC Rising Stars has a proven track record of selecting only the best of individuals. Euan Hankey is the only person to be awarded with this prestigious accolade twice. He was welcomed onto the programme originally in 2006, but in 2008 he temporarily left motor sport to finish his university degree. On his return in the later part of 2009 he was once again recognised by the programme and selected to become member.
